Last year, Ms Gibbons and four of her English students, Sarah Geraghty , Shauna Lally, Hannah Mulrooney and Kate Screene  set up a Wellread Committee in the school, with the aim of promoting reading and creating a culture of reading within the school. The committee organised various activities, such as running a Book Review Competition in Mountbellew  National School, Guess the Teacher Autobiography, and  Art Competitions. As usual, HRC students participated in the national MS Readathon, which we look forward to every year. We were delighted to be one of only  seventeen schools in Ireland  to receive the PDST Wellread Award in Dublin in November. We have many more exciting reading-related activities planned for this school year!
