Mary O’Connor, one of our 6th year students in HRC has just launched her collection of art work in Ceannt Train Station, Galway. This event was kindly sponsored by Irish Rail in conjunction with Business in the Community Ireland’s Comprehensive Employment Strategy 2015-2024.
The launch took place on Thursday 14th December with 18 pieces of her art work on display in the train station.
Special mention to her art teacher, Mairead Gilmore and her SNA, Colette Walsh, who have both helped Mary progress her love of art over her years in HRC.
Also attending the opening of the exhibition were Tom Crehan, Principal and Maura Larkin, Deputy Principal, Mary’s parents, Pat and Mary, along with a group of Transition Year students and their teachers (Ms Burke, Ms Carr, Mr Molly and Mr Finnerty). Also, in attendance were members of the management team from Irish rail and Carol O’Byrne from BITC.
Mary has already sold one of her pieces and is very proud of her work with pieces she created going back as far as her first year in HRC.
Don’t miss the collection which is open to the general public in the waiting room of the train station. Enjoy!
Well done Mary from all in HRC
