Athletics Success June 2016
Congratulations to Lydia Doyle and Jack Dempsey who represented HRC and won individual All-Ireland medals in the Schools' Athletic Championships in June and were selected to represent Ireland in the SIAB Schools Track & Field International at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford, England in July.
Both went on to win All-Ireland titles in the Club Championships and Lydia was again selected to represent Ireland in the Celtic Games in Swansea where she finished second.
Both students have huge Athletic Careers ahead of them ! |

The Junior Rugby team in the school has qualified for the semifinal of the Connacht Schools Development Cup following a 24 points to 12 win over Clifden Community School.

Congratulations to our Boys' Senior Football Connacht Champions squad who won in the Connacht Colleges B Final in Ballyhaunis by defeating Rice College, Westport by 1.5 to 0.7 on Saturday, 5th March, in a closely fought contest. |
Hard luck to our Senior Girls' Football Team who lost to John the Baptist CS, Hospital, Co. Limerick on a scoreline of 1.11 to 1.6 in the All Ireland Final on 7th March.

Rugby November 2014
The Connacht Schools 2015 Rugby Cup draws were held on Wednesday evening the 19th of November in the Sportsground in Galway. The draw was attended by the Schools Junior Captain Brian McDonell and the Joint Senior Captains Keith Lyons and Michael McDonell. HRC are the current holders of the Senior Development Cup and reached the semi final of the Junior Development Cup in 2014.

Three Connacht Titles in 2014
HRC teams won three Connacht Senior titles in 2014, in Camogie, Football & Rugby.
Congratulations to all the students and coaches involved
Senior Camogie
On 15th January HRC defeated Mercy College, Woodford by 8 -9 to 0 - 3 to win the Fr. Higgins Memorial Cup, named after much loved School Chaplain, the late Fr. Seán Higgins.
In the all Ireland Quarter Final, HRC lost to Maryfield College, Drumcondra, Dublin after putting in a great performance.
Senior B Football
In the final, played at Tuam Stadium, HRC defeated favourites St. Louis CS Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo to win the the Richie Bell Cup for the first time in nine years. Click here for pictorial record
In the All Ireland semi-final, they lost by one point to Coláiste Choilm, Ballincollig, Cork
Senior Rugby
At the Sportsground, Galway, on 26th March, HRC defeated Scoil Chuimsitheach Chiaráin, Carraroe to win the Connacht Schools Development Cup for the first time.

Camogie All Star 2013 - 2014
Congratulations to Miss Niamh Kilkenny, past pupil and now a teacher in HRC, has the distinction of being named a camogie All Star for the fourth successive year. She was HRC sports’ personality and student of the year in 2007. Niamh, along with her sister Orla, were key members of Galway’s remarkable All-Ireland winning team 2013.

Sporting Success
Andrea O Farrell, a member of the local power lifting club, set a new record in the European Power Lifting Championships in Belgium recently. Kelly Mc Cormack represented Ireland in the European Gymnastics championship in Spain. Lukas Pozerauskas has won numerous awards in Karate while Emma Smith was successful at the World Cup Youths’ Dart Competition. |

Aviva Fitness Challenge
HRC is one of the schools taking part in the Aviva Fitness Challenge this spring. This challenge involves testing the fitness levels of 1st and 2nd year students using the “bleep” test. After a number of weeks of training, the test is performed again and results are collated. The programme is coordinated by DCU and prizes are awarded to the fittest school and the most improved schools.

| All Ireland Camogie Final 15th September 2013 |
Congratulations to both the Galway Senior and the Intermediate Camogie teams who were All Ireland winners in Croke Park on this third Sunday in September. The Intermediate team beat Limerick on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-10
It was only the Seniors second All Ireland title, the last being in 1996. They beat Kilkenny on a scoreline of 1-09 to 0-07
Congrats especially to our past pupils, Niamh and Orla Kilkenny who were / are part of the Galway squad.
